Kiddo Bath Saga Continues…
Some days, I’m not sure I’ll ever finish our kiddo bath project. Especially when I actually find time to work on it, and things just end up going wrong. Most recently, I’ve been working on enameling the paneling. And I almost have that project done.

As you can see, it’s looking pretty good. It just needs one last coat, because I feel like the finish needs to be evened out a bit more. While it’s hard to tell in photos, the finish is somewhat uneven in its glossiness. And to me, that’s just not acceptable. I used a sponge roller, because I often see it recommended for painting furniture. But as it turns out, sponge rollers and I are not friends. I just don’t like the weird texture it leaves for me. Where as, I can wield my paint brush to apply it just so and leave an acceptably even and smooth enameled top coat. It just takes a painfully long time. Argh.
And then because painting is taking forever, and lack of lighting for the last 9 months is starting to get to me. I decided to install the light fixture. I got the fixture up just fine. Even checked my connections, and it all works. Fantastic, right? Except for the fact that the junction box doesn’t seem to be completely secured to the wall. You’ve got to be kidding me?!?

Double argh. So now the light needs to come down and I need to figure out if the current junction box can be secured, or if I need to call an electrician to come in and install a new one.

So for now, we are still living with the bathroom being in a state of semi-completion. Maybe one day, it will finally be done…
