A Non-Matching Pair: Rocker + Floor Pouf
A few weeks ago, I mentioned the Pottery Barn Kids’ Wing Back Rocker in a round up I did of some of their new spring releases.

When I ordered this chair for a nursery project awhile back, PBK was not yet offering a coordinating ottoman that came in the same upholstery options. (Although they do now.) So I put together some suggestions for ottoman options to pair with it. And I thought I’d share my choices with you here as there are not always coordinating options available—and not everyone likes to be all match-y match-y with their chair and ottoman parings. Right?
I admit that I equally love to match as much as I love to mix. But in pulling inspiration photos for mixing different chairs with ottomans, I might just be more in the mixing it up camp these days—especially when it comes to the floor pouf trend.

Of course using a floor pouf is not the only alternative when it comes to paring an ottoman with a chair. You can use a wooden footstool, or find an upholstered ottoman you like and cover it in a complementary fabric or extra yardage of the same fabric on your chair. But I have to say that the pouf option is certainly one of my favorites—particularly for a kid’s space because they are nice and soft, easy to move around, and pretty versatile when it comes to reuse somewhere else down the line. And I’m sure the fact that I’m a mother of a toddler—who has now learned to catapult himself off the glider ottoman in our nursery—probably has something to do with my strong appreciation for the softness and crash friendly nature that the floor cushion and pouf trend has to offer.
So here is a grouping of kid-friendly floor poufs that I think would pair well with the Pottery Barn Kids’ Wing Back Rocker. Tell me, what’s your favorite combination? Do you like the floor pouf trend? Or are you way over it by now?
